Grumble Grumble
Did make it down to the games...made two passes, Sat morning during the monsoons and hail - not much shopping as the few vendors at the games buttoned up trying to keep their wares dry. Another scant year for vendors. Came back Saturday afternoon for the mud. Parking was a nightmare. Never did find Ialtog's tent.
The pipe band parade was HUGE....guessing a hundred or more...left my camera in the car though.
Did connect with Retro Red and his wife and Scratchy and MacDougall...if I missed anyone sorry.

Did manage to find a Macdonald tartan tam. Occured to me later that my Grandfather Murdoch Macdonald had one like it. Kinda nice.
Had delicious buffalo steak for dinner at Little America with my lady and her daughter and daughter's boyfriend. On the way home though some speedy youngster collided with my front end...hard to explain the events, and not relevant here...but he was WAY in the wrong and I got the ticket because the cops couldn't believe anyone was that weird. So now, deep in the throws of insurance adjusters. Fortunately the car was driveable and I've made it home to Page.
Sad, the miserable weather made for poor socializing with other X Markers. Raised in Oregon I'm not much bothered by rain...but the marble sized hail did get my attention.

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, Ron! It was nice to meet you on Saturday, I'm just sorry you didn't have more time to spend chatting!
I spent a couple of hours hanging around with Scratchy & Lass, which was fun. They were great folks, and I look forward to seeing them again, perhaps at the Phoenix games in February.

Yes, weather there indeed was!
That hail storm was definately an attention-getter.
Ron, sorry we didn't get to chat much and SO sorry about the car! Jeez!
Mr. Mac- was fun palling around! Ialtog, glad we found your tent, but sorry we missed the Salt presentation. By the end of Sunday, my colitis was beyond uproar, and it was time to git.
Ayin- I've done the same thing, calendar-wise...it is maddening! We'll just have to take the next opportunity to get together, for sure!
And guess what I found toward the end of Saturday? On a used rack for a mere $50!!

I'm looking forward to having it dry cleaned when I'm back down in the Valley Of Heat and Dust, and to wearing it out to a kilt night along with some killer heels (Short people...need....high heels.....short people....need..high..heels..... )

I ended up going back there at the end of the day Saturday, and buying a knotty R from them. (For those who have forgotten, my given name is Regan). They'd just been so nice, letting us take shelter from the hail!

That is a wonderful find! What a bargain!
Worth the gate fee and travel to land that lovely tartan dress.

I was actually at the festival on Sunday, but wasn't a member of the forum then, and wouldn't have known who to look for.

Next year.
And some year I'm gonna make your Prescott games.

This year's Prescott games were surprisingly good, for such a small town. Unfortunately, next summer I'll probably be back in Tucson, and I don't know that I'll want to drive four hours for a games event, even if it is a good one.

I had a great time, as usual, at the Flagstaff Celtic Festival this year!
I could've done without the hail, but it was refreshing experiencing rain, again.
I can't believe we had so many XMTS members up there & we didn't get a group photo. Maybe next time we should exchange cell phone #s so we can call each other & arrange a meeting. At least I didn't miss Ron this year & I kept running into Darren regularly (hope those bruises have gone away!).
Maybe next year I'll meet Ialtog & Scratchy & his Lass & Mr MacDougall.

For next year, come up with an XTMS armband, or ribbon to wear as a way of quickly identifying the members...
