She's a "fence-sitter" on the subject of kilts:

On one hand, she is Scottish (on my side), and Irish (on her mom's), so she understands the significance. My family is quite proud of our history, she's quite familiar & comfortable with heritage matters. Plus, she has uncles & cousins who are kilted, so it's nothing new or astonishing to her.

On the other hand... she IS a teenage girl... so anything Dad does is square/weird/old/corny/etc.

Outwardly, she rolls her eyes at me.
Secretly, I believe she thinks it's kinda cool.

Well, whatever she thinks, I'm sure you're the proud Papa! She has my vote for Home-coming Queen!

I recently wore my weathered MacKenzie SWK standard to a match. Pretty positive reactions all around. One lady with a UK accent did ask me what tartan I was wearing and what my family connection to it was. Once I passed the interrogation she was very nice.

I think you should have a grand time.
Whit is a UK accent? a take it ye didnae ken where she came fae?

"I bet you have your hands full keeping the boys away. I find that wearing the kilt and randomly brandishing a claymore helps with this."

Actually, I find that brandishing a claymore and randomly wearing the kilt REALLY scares them away.

Actually, the dog does a decent job, too.
Very protective of her... circles like a shark when her boyfriend is around.
    Good dog, Good dog.
