I still think a gorilla suit with a Black Stewart kilt is the way to go!
I don't see any way you can do the "kilted ninja" thing WITHOUT explaining what the heck one has to do with the other.
My local Target actually has a gorilla costume... I just might have to go as an escapee from the Edinburgh zoo!(which, BTW, is a lovely zoo. It was one of the highlights of our visit.)
