It's kind of fun getting to know people over time with out all the fast pace chatroom stuff going on.
Guess there is some strutting and rooster tail shaking that goes on, but I've seen other forums that are very bad with that stuff. I don't fit in with all that.

yup, we used to have a chatroom here but as far as I know it was just too much to handle. We like it a little more laid back and the MODs and even to a small extent we House Chairmen do what we can to make it a nice place on the net.
With that being said...................YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNN NNNNNNKKKKKKK....
Back on topic. I absolutely love the brighter tartans. I have to be in the mood for it but good grief I do indeed feel like a peacock. Works well.
Jamie, you're right. You don't have an inner peacock you have an outer one. How's that maroon kilt treating you??

I try to stick to my seasonal skin tone colors. I'm a summer: pail skin, hazel eyes, freckles, dark charcoal brown hair with slight auburn highlights... Basicly, I can wear browns, blue, nutrals, and pastels; nothing bright orange, red, purple, or yellow.
I remember the Wallace tartan, and think that is a very pretty tartan, but I couldn't look good in it. Hunting Wallace perhaps...
Most gray seems to go well with my hair color and I can wear black if I balance it with cream or some other color. The red and orange and so on looks ten times brighter on me than a lot of other people. I try to wear blue shirts and jackets a lot because the hazel goes a bit more blue, but I can also turn my eyes green with greens and other colors.

Rooster-Doodle-Doo...
I do have a bunch of clothes and a bunch of shoes, and keep them all sorted out by color... They're muted and bland colors, but I guess that might count as being a peacock...
I also think a lot about what I'm going to wear to look good: what goes with what. I try to be sure that my belt at the very least is close to the color of my shoes if not matching...
Guess I'm a pastel peacock.

It's a little bit different of a strut I think though... I think rooster strut is the right way to describe it. Kind of a hip strut to get them tail feathers shaking...
Oh gosh, I remember the guys walking like gorillas back in grade school out on the playground. Their arms bowed out to the sides. The "I'm more beastly than you" look. Their bottum lip sticking out in a scowl... I hope that isn't the strut we are talking about.
So I guess you have the gorilla strut or the rooster strut... There's probably other struts, but I con't think of them right now... The clydesdale, horsey strut maybe.

I have never heard a woman comment in a negative way on how men get more attention in their kilt than the ladies do in their formal wear. However, what I have noticed is perhaps a subtle to less-than-subtle effort on the ladies' part to wear more low-cut or otherwise daring evening gowns to our Rabbie Burns Dinners. Or, it's just my imagination. The ladies still have my first attention.
