Slacks? Aren't those those sorta trouser things that women wear? Surely you mean trousers, don't you? :P

Hmmm, it seems like I've heard a kind of men's pants called slacks all my life. They are those somewhat dressy double knit material pants usually, but they aren't quite formal. What do I know...

Well, the ones in my closet are pretty slack. One of those bifurcated trooser things. Other than a few woolen heirlooms, mine are mostly what you call your "chinos," obtained for perhaps $16 at (pardon the expression) Wal-Mart.

After experimenting with several causal jacket conversions, I now think the the bottom edge of the jacket should be 1/2 inch (or there-abouts) shorter than the sleeve (for me!) This one turned out to be even with the sleeve. I will pay closer attention next time, but it is definitely usable. I have yet to wear it to anything, but I'm considering wearing it with my Catanach #6 for the New Years Party.

Goes pretty well with the Black Stewart, no?

I guess I should have put on a light colored shirt.

What I want to know, James or anybody, is how would a matching corduroy vest be handled in this conversion? I ask because I am working on getting the corduroy jacket with matching vest, that I brought up in earlier posts, converted to wear with a kilt.

Still wonder how you would do a vest like the matching vest with the corduroy jacket I'm working on...

Vests are nice, because, in my experience, they require no modification. But I've not seen a corduroy vest.
