Welcome! I'm really glad to hear that you had a better experience than I did. Offering a substitute once they have your money should be the minimum of customer service.

Welcome from Southern California.
Frugal Corner has certainly come a long way in a short time. I highly recommend them.
Both Frugal Corner , and Stillwater Kilts are my total favorites. Perfect for my lowly budget, (unless some unknown rich relative dies and puts me in their Will, I shall never own a hand-sewn Tank), Folk always comment on how smart I look, and it's all thanks to Jerry at Stillwater and Mark at Frugal Corner.
Without them I could never have afforded kilting, which I enjoy immensely.

Hi, all. I'd been lurking 'round here for the past month or so, quietly doing my research I just wanted to chip in another positive for Frugal Corner.
I'd seen their MacIntosh kilts on eBay every so often, and while the low cost was very tempting, I wasn't quite sure what I'd be getting into. I checked their Web site for the tartan and at first, the images wouldn't load. I e-mailed them, and they responded back in about a day, explaining that it was a browser issue (weird...).
More time passed, and I asked whether they could send me a higher quality image of the MacIntosh tartan, because the small thumbnail they had looked washed out and distorted compared to renderings of the MacIntosh hunting tartan that's elsewhere out on the 'Net. Received a larger photo by e-mail about a day later. So, finally, I decided to take the plunge. While it'd be really nice to have the super heavy duty formal kilt, I just don't have the $400+ to spend for something that's going to come with me to a smoky pub or party, just like I'm not going to wear my best suit to the dive bar on the corner
I called Frugal Corner on Friday the 2nd, talked to Mark, and placed my order for the last MacIntosh they had. I walked into my office this morning after being off the last two days to a box with Priority Mail tape all over it. Opened it up and held aloft my Macintosh Hunting kilt -- the colors are much more vibrant and deep than the original photo Mark had sent me due to wash-out from the flash. It's the 13oz. so it's definitely much lighter in weight and material than my Irish National, which is a 16oz, I believe.
But that's okay because now I have a kilt in my in-laws' tartan. My mother-in-law was just giddy when she found out that I was just even looking into getting their clan tartan, let alone actually purchasing one, which is really hilarious because I'm actually 100% Japanese (and I do have a formal kimono set with my own clan crest on it)! They're the typical "multi-European mutt" blend of Irish, Scottish, English, German, etc. but the name can trace back fairly easily -- hence, the MacIntosh.
So I just wanted to post another quick plus vote for Frugal Corner. Just gave them a call on Friday to verify that the item I wanted was in stock, ordered it, and received my order a couple of days later.
