Thanks again for all the interest, We have 18 members so a good wee clan of knitters. I'll soon have you all making your own. Still have room for more. I myself will be putting the names of those who have commented on my posts into a hat and before I start knitting mine I will pull your name out and this pair will be yours, you will know of course that the pair will be yours because I will ask for your measurements. I will be knitting mine in a blue lovat shade. A kind of Scottish present so to speak. I hope it is OK with the mods to do this.

Anything free is, well, good. If the mods mind, I will have to kick some ****.

I'll give it a try, although it's been years since I touched needles.

Count me in. I'm just finishing up my first pair of socks so I think I can handle it. Just need to get the right size needles.

Ach, I wish I had the time and patience....
Maybe someday when I break my leg (Can one plan for that?), I'll give it a go...
Happy knitting!

My father learned to juggle when he broke his leg. We had bruised apples and oranges all winter.
If you have time to watch TV and post to online forums (which shall remain nameless) you've got time to knit. I knit a row, then check for new posts, then knit another row, check for new posts, etc. Knitting teaches you patience, lowers blood pressure, and helps you sleep. Plus, if you sip a little whisky along with it, you wind up with some really "interesting" kilt hose.

LOL, I had to let Joan know that in one of the "new age" magazines we get, they have an article on knitting as a form of meditation. Came the same month I decide to learn lol. I think that once the frustration of trying to figure out what the instruction book I have is trying to tell me what to do and missing a stitch from the dog or cat bugging me, I will eventually lower my blood pressure.
