Welcome from Eastern Washington State. Except for highland dance competitions and pipe band members women don't usually wear the kilt. The Scottish women's garment is much larger and fuller and quite beautiful.

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.
My students give me weird looks when I am not kilted. Many a lass around here wears tartan kilted skirts, and longer gathered tartan skirts that look great to this old man's eye. Enjoy Alba.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome~!~ I love it here already
And as to women wearing kilts, I've seen it before but not nearly as often as that of men wearing them. I love tartans and hope to purchase some form of it when I'm in Edinburgh (mine is Keith).

Welcome to the Rabble from another lass! My daughter and I wear a kilt.

Mine is a mini kilt that I measured to the knee. I REALLY like the swish factor on my hubby's tank (8 yard 16 oz wool kilt) though so I want to get one.
