    Looks like fun!

my mom is a Vallejo chick and her dad was an engineer at Mare Island Navel Shipyard for 36 years working on nuclear submarines and one of her sisters worked there before it was shut down.

It all looks wonderfully strange, completely over-the-top, and a lot of fun!

When I wear a great kilt, I have a sgian with a small hole drilled through the handle and another through the sheath. Then I just run a string through the two holes to secure the sgian. Although the Highlanders did not carry sgian dubhs in their hose. They carried a small knife called sgian ockle under their armpit (it was a weapon of last resort.) It was the sgian ockle that was placed in the hose to show the host that his guest was unarmed.

There were a lot of pets there (if I'd known they were allowed, I would have brought one of the snakes-I'm sure he would have been a hit! )

I got a shot of his royal highness, or should I say say his royal "pugness"

Of course, later in the day, he was out of costume and being carried by his owner (pugs aren't great in the heat, especially if they're wearing velvet).

I also caught a shot of the dog with the kegs (shouldn't she have been a Saint Bernard?).

I asked what was in the barrels. Her folks replied, "There was rum in there, but it's all gone". To which I bemoaned, "Why, why is there no rum!?"

We discovered what one does with wayward sons....

    ....and husbands.

I'll pause here so that Grant can make a silly comment re: Panache in the stocks...

    Be well,

Remarkable, some of the folks there look like some XMarks members! But they wouldn't be pirates? Love the dog with the keg.
