I cannot fault them for their communication. I made a mistake when I paid (paid in GBP rather than AUD). Emails back and forth over weekend; told that sporran would be shipped Monday morning; email received Monday to tell me sporran had now been shipped.

All I've got left is the wait.

    Regards

    Chas

    UPDATE

When the sporran had not arrived on the 8th day after posting (by airmail), I emailed to enquire. Received a bright and breezy reply within 6 hours, telling me all was well and that packages sometimes take longer. Not sure that I believe this - Airmail is after all Airmail. I am sure that the Australians don't send packages on slower air-planes. Today is the 9th day after posting. We have had the post for today and the sporran has not arrived.

    Will keep you posted.

    Regards

    Chas

    customs?

    Chas,

I guess the US isn't as tonight as letting things in. From the day I was told it shipped AU I had it in my hand in five working days. I hope it arrives today.

I've checked with HM Revenue and Customs and they say that the value is below the taxable threshold so nothing to pay. Anyway they send out a tax and duty demand immediately so if they had it, I would know about it.

So it seems to be down to slow aeroplanes. I know I am worrying unnecessarily, but I am going to the Harpenden Highland Games on Sunday and was hoping to wear it there.

Oh well - three more post days to go. Living in hope.

    Regards

    Chas

I have two of their sporran chain belts. The chains are too thin, but the leather work is great, so I've just changed out the chain bit.

I have just bought one of their sporrans in kangaroo fur - it looks great. I would post a photo but I'm a newbie on the board and that isn't allowed yet it seems.

I have also had a matching kilt belt and sporran strap made in plaited kangaroo leather by a very obliging lady at a site called "bushbabes" www.bushbabes.com.au

Not one of their standard products but I explained exactly what I wanted and it was made and delivered in just 10 days - superb service.

As an Australian it is hard to see what all the fuss is about kangaroo skins. The species that are hunted here aren't endangered. Kangaroo leather is extremely soft and supple and widely used for belts and bags.

You are able to post photos, I just saw your buckle shoes, however you do not need to use the url code only the img code.

The products look good, the prices are excellent - but if they can't deliver, that all means nothing. With me, so far, they have a 100% failure rate and they owe me - either my money back or the sporran I ordered.

A little known fact is this: Mail, especially International Mail keeps travelling. It doesn't stop at 5 o'clock or at weekends or on Sundays. It keeps going till it reaches the closest depot to the recipient. In my case that is Thetford, 9 miles away. They did a search for me (it cost me £10) - no package from Australia.

This is not petulance on my part, I firmly believe that they are robbing me.

By the way - nice belt and sporran.

    Regards

    Chas

    Nifty notions reliability...

All I can say is Nifty Notions delivered my sporran OK and quite quickly. I also bought a second one for a friend and it arrived in a few days but I live here in Australia. Two weeks is a long time to wait for air mail from Australia to the UK and I'd be concerned too. Have you asked them for a replacement or refund? Please let us know if it does eventually arrive or if they give you a refund.

On the topic of reliability I have had superb service from the Leisa the plaited kangaroo belt maker at Bushbabes.

They don't take Paypal though (bank transfer only) as it seems to be quite a small business - a one woman operation out in mid western Queensland I understand. I don't think they have anything to do with Nifty Notions.
