Thank you for posting that Beloitpiper, I was very pleased to see pictures of the USA branch of the Atholl Highlanders too.

The two really aren't connected except in the most tenuous of ways. I think the "real" Atholl Highlanders would be shocked at the slovenliness of the American pipeband.

Great Photo's, I have been to the Highland games at Blair Atholl & the army were on Parade a great sight indeed.

Sometimes people ask whether it is ok if their kilts and plaids don't match. If you look carefully at the photos of the Atholl Highlanders you will note that while their kilts and plaids are the same tartan (Murray of Atholl), they are in different color schemes. The kilts are in the dark "modern" colors, while the plaids are in a more subdued muted shade. Nice effect, in my opinion.

The last time I saw them parade, I counted three different shades of tartan either in the kilt, or, plaid, or, both.I certainly counted two different plaid hues in their pictures at the gathering of the clans.I agree with you Matt all very nice and typically Highland.
