Let me explain one thing - the music we play in our Edinburgh shops is genuine Scottish music, we mainly use CDs from our own collection like 'The Music and Song of Edinburgh' by Featuring Ed Miller, The McCalmans, Ceolbeg, Brian McNeill, Iain MacKintosh and others.
And of course you do make the appropriate payments for the performing rights - don't you?

Cheers, Graham.
Not for one moment, and I'm sure Heather will keep us right on that.

Phil, we do have a permission to use these pictures from Lochcarron company. They do not charge us extra for using the pictures.

Nothing to do with pictures, Heather. I was asking whether your business has a licence from the Performing Rights Society to broadcast music in your shops - http://www.prsformusic.com/Pages/default.aspx

It's fashionable to bash Heritage of Scotland around here. I, for one, tire of such snobbery. I've never purchased a kilt from them, but I have purchased other items with much satisfaction.

Off topic, so please don't let me hijack the thread... I was at a storefront of one of the main tartan weavers in a somewhat remote part of Scotland this summer and asked for "McBain" tartan. The attendant, who did not seem to have a local accent (or maybe not a Scottish accent at all), counterposed before offering to help, "We say 'MacBean' here". I was quite taken aback that the person thought they should corect my pronounciation of my own clan name (in addition to being arguably wrong). It bugged me and still does, just as it would for an attendant to argue my choice of kilt length. I guess it must be hard to deal with tourist influxes.

FROM THE MODERATORS:
Personal Vendetta's
This forum system is not a venue for personal or private vendetta's. Keep your personal business as just that - personal. This forum is not a venue for the resolution of personal disputes with members.
That also goes for 'bashing' vendors, whether they are advertisers, or not.

I have bought a kilt from this company a cheap £40 Macdonald Tarten one and it was reasonable quality for the price, though like an earlier thread I like to spend £120 or more now on a good quality one, which you cannot beat for the feel of the fabric and long lasting quality, cheers
