Welcome from an Arkansas ex-pat living in La Antigua Guatemala. I like that Confederate tartan !! Gotta look for one myself.

-
Jim,
I looked for a long while before I found somewhere that carried Confederate tartan kilts. www.kiltmart.com, www.thefrugalcorner.com both have the Confederate tartan kilt stocked, and of course rocky at USA kilts and Matthew at the Scottish Tartans museum could also get it
Just thought I'd throw it out there in case you were looking for it

Hi, Rebel, and greetings from the bottom end of Africa.
About 110 years ago we had a war much like yours, except the losing side weren’t called Rebs, they were Boers.
Family of mine fought (or at least bore arms) on both sides. My mom’s granny, who came from a Boer family, was married to a Scot who left the Transvaal for the duration of the war to keep out of trouble. But her brothers all fought in the commandos, and her sisters were interned in concentration camps.
My dad’s paternal grandfather had fought for Germany in the 1860-61 war against France, and had come to the Cape Colony to keep his sons out of war. But my dad’s Afrikaner uncle, a student safely in Stellenbosch (near Cape Town), joined the Town Guard and patrolled the outskirts in khaki uniform.
Later he went to live in the Transvaal, and changed his tune – he told his pals up there that his father had forced him to be a “khaki”, and that he had wanted to fight for the Boers.
Many of his relatives, who lived in the Transvaal, did go out with the commandos.
Regards,
Mike

Welcome to the neighborhood Just up the road from you in Jefferson. I don't know where a good place in Athens is to tip a pint but Paddy's at chataeu Elan is decent if you can get there before "screaming guitar guy" does.

Cavscout, I have found a couple of really good places for tipping a pint, the Royal Peasant in Five Points, Landsdowne Pub downtown, and of course my favorite the Globe also in downtown Athens.
So nice to meet all of yall in the rabble. Hopefully as XMarkers we can get together at some point
Cheers
