    Here's my day, evening, and everything sporran. Made by a friend some 15 years ago - old Black Watch cantle and doe skin which is very soft and probably accounts for why ladies seem to like to fondle it. Once, it the US, a lady was doing just that as she in all innocence asked what I kept in my scrotum. The obvious answer was - everything of value.

    I'm currently waiting to convert this snapping turtle shell bag into a sporran purchased on ebay several months back. I trying to locate either a badger pelt or possibly a skunk pelt to finish it haven't decided yet.

    I have one of those 1953 MOD "Culloden" sporran cantles. It's in the photo I posted. But I've not been able to find anybody to make a sporran for it.

    The trouble is the attachments, which are little knobs on the inside. Originally there were C-shaped things that clamped over these knobs to hold the leather sporran body in place.

    I see what your maker has done was to drill some holes near the rim so that the leather sporran body could be held in place by leather lacing.

    I have a contemporary sporran by Sporran Nation that I've never seen anyone else with. I plan on getting a second this week.
    I really love the modern, contemporary look to the spoaan and it looks great with traditional kilts too.

    It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

    Quite correct. what he did was mimic the way the bag was attached on an old (c1740-50) sporran that we have in the family but which, understandably, does come out too often.

    Richard,

    I also have one of these sporrans. The great bit is the "knobs" on the inside are designed to fit snaps which are sewn onto the leather bag. I've talked with Lamar Britt about sewing a new bag but have had some difficulties in sustaining communication. I'm looking into just gathering the materials and sewing one myself. Since I have the original bag on mine I'll send some pics.

    I like Sporran nation, Some of the designs are a bit out there for my tastes but some are quite smart. for some reason ive just never got round to buying one... yet

    P.S I do really like the one pictured.
    The hielan' man he wears the kilt, even when it's snowin';
    He kens na where the wind comes frae,
