    A unique experience

I attended our Order of the Arrow (Boy Scouts of America Honor Society) Fall Fellowship over the weekend and completed the requirements and ceremony for Brotherhood. I do believe I shocked most of the lodge when I decided to make the hike and complete the ceremony kilted. Sorry guys, but no photos allowed, so there is no real proof. I must say that I will never forget the look on the Lodge Chief's face when he turned around during the ceremony and realized I was wearing my kilt.

Kilts are a big part of scouting- at least in Canada. I don't know about the States... Congrats on the brotherhood!

Congratulations on both accounts; attaining the Brotherhood and wearing the kilt! We'll cut you the slack in not having the pix, if you tell us about the kilt you wore.

Congrats from another fellow (albeit retired) OA member and Life Scout. Your statements about the "secrecy" and "sacredness" of the ritual are true regarding any kind of recordings, etc..., if anyone has any doubts as to its validity.

Cogratulations! Just had the previlage of hosting an Eagle Scout Court of Honor at one of the churches I serve. It was a great time to honor the hard work of a fine young man.

    Sadly no kilts were present.

Having recieved my brotherhood this summer, I know how you feel. My son's are part of a very active OA team that won Nat'l awards for their ceremonies. I wish there were more things like scouts available for young people to learn how to be the best and who they are. I wear my kilts at OA events they seem more accepting in my choice than others. I hope to meet you along the trail.
