Here's a picture of Sandy wearing his famous formal coat and waistcoat (found in another thread):

Kinloch Anderson also has a number of photos in their waistcoats section.

Colored waistcoats? I personally love 'em! I want a lovat green one, myself. I only have three- one black, one digicam, and one bias-cut tartan.

Let's see if I can give Jock fits... As I have often stated- I love modern kilt wear every bit as much as the traditional.

I just threw mine on over my t shirt to snap a quick picture for you.

The tartan is Albannach from USA Kilts, made by Hothir Ethelnor from this board. I actually have 2 kilts in this tartan- the one I'm wearing is made from the original run of wool Albannach tartan. The other was made at the same time as the waistcoat, from USA Kilts PV. Do waistcoats and Iron Maiden t shirts go well together?

This is not strictly true. As it's a sleeveless garment it's relatively easy to make a properly fitted waistcoat. Waaaaaay easier than a jacket! The difficulties are in the details as they say. Like welt-pockets or bound buttonholes. Also, in how it shows under the jacket - if you're going to get a jacket. You need to get the points just right or the right amount of neckline to show, etc...

I have a red waistcoat with gold buttons suprisingly. Quite a contrast but it actually looks quite nice.

I will definitely purchase more colored waist coats in the future. I like the idea of a burgundy one for sure.

Would you perhaps have the Mess jacket to go with it? If so, you might contribute to a thread I started about them:

Certainly, I have a few myself! Here's one taken this past January at our Burns Dinner. I'm wearing the St. Ninian tartan.

One of my favorite photos of my wife and I, taken several years ago at her brother's wedding. The tartan is MacQuarrie.

I also have a bias-cut Carolina tartan waistcoat, but oddly enough the only photo I have of it, someone else is wearing it! This is my friend, museum board member Chuck Coburn, wearing it with his Carolina tartan kilt last Burns Night.
