That is just spectacular! My first attempt is pretty much a mess in the back. I still wear them & hope everyone will be looking at the pleats, instead. I shall have to have another go, inspired by you and Joannie.
I started learning Continental (though I'm still working on the purl) so that I could carry one color in each hand for his project.

Yes, very impressive. I'd seen photos of this pattern from Mrs Newsome in a cuff, but wow, the entire piece is quite something of note.

Yes, she can continue the pattern for the whole sock as well. She's done a couple of pair for me. Here's the "small shepherd's check":

The hose knitted by both Room2ndfloor and Matt Newsomes wife look brilliant.
They give such a warm,home crafts sort of touch to the kilts worn.Really special.That sort of down to earth,'independant from mass production' look and feel goes so well with highland dress.
