I compliment you on your photographic skills. They are self-evident in this post and in the many other posts that you have been making.
I woke up at 2am one night, plagued near to insanity as to how I was going to make your buckle, and the pure genius celestial wave came into my head and, right then and there, I knew how to make the "starry sky".
I got up, made some coffee, and the world changed before my eyes.

Thank you, Mark, for your incredible craftsmanship! Any photographic success I have, I'm forced to atribute to the equipment at my disposal... my dad has this fancy flash that makes all the difference.
And that's an awesome story, pertaining to the starry sky background- it is PERFECT for this buckle.
I've already gotten some comps from extraScottish friends, also, so it seems this piece is a winner, regardless of what circle you're in at the time.

As far as I know, it's designed to work both ways.

I think it's perfectly on topic!
Read The Shadow Over Innsmouth.
The Elder Sign that Mark rendered on this buckle for me is actually directly from H.P.'s hand. In a letter to one of his friends, he drew this sign, which was actually described in The Shadow Over Innsmouth.
Man, I tell you what- Everyone should have one of Mark's buckles- at least one! Having twice as many TF buckles feels three times as good, if you can imagine that!

Oh man! That is high praise, indeed.
Yes, having more than one of most anything is a luxury, I know. I am fortunate to have a little better access than most, and more latitude expense wise than any.
But the nice thing is one can go slowly and pick one here, one there. I know a couple of guys that have 2.
I only pray that I live up to each and every one's expectations.

Oh, I can't imagine anyone being less than 100% thrilled with your work, Mark. And to folks that have never seen one of these babies in person, they can't imagine what they're missing out on! Even the best pictures don't do justice.

There is the look..................then there is the feel. What can I say? I am humble, and thankful for the praise.
Same way for bonnets, and for good weave.

I must say, I dig these stars!
You know, it isn't easy to follow a celestial map. And it is equally difficult to make a celestial map. It drove me mad!

Late to the party as usual...
That buckle looks awesome, man. Will have to obtain one some day.

@Mark- I noticed Orion straight away, just below and to the left of the lower left-hand arm of the Elder Sign. Well done, sir!
@Nick- You'll be glad to did, my friend. Wearing a unique work of art as your belt buckle carries with it a feeling of distinction that's just out of sight! It's an instant heirloom, too, that no one will ever grow out of, and that will never wear out.

Sharp eye, man. There might also be a dark hole or 2 in there, so watch out.
