Well, as long as we're talking spirits.
May I offer a suggestion in the Irish Whiskey
department. (I know, heresy)...I love scotch
and that's what I usually drink but a friend
did turn me on to some really good Irish whiskey
    awhile ago. It's called Knappogue.
It's really very, very good. Try it when you feel
like something a little bit different from your usual scotch cravings, you'll like it.

Ardbeg is the name (Just down the road from Lagavullin)

Lukily the mainstream hasn't really opened it's eyes yet and goes for the safe choice....

Get a bottle of "Very young" or failling that 10year.If you like Smokey whisky like Lagavullin then try this. You won't regreat it
...Then you can write and say "Thank-you" David
David, I keep looking for this whisky but so far I haven't found anyone who carries it I'm limited to a small selection in my area.

In my liqour cabinet at present is a bottle each of Talisker and Bushmills 10 yr. old single malt. Seems like a proper Ulsterman's mix to me. The Talisker is nearly gone... Time to hit the local state store!

I could not agree more but I haven't meet a
    single malt I didn't like!

    Currently in my liquor cabinet:
Lagavullin 16yr. -my personal favorite, nice peaty taste Which ACRAIG summed up well
“Strong peat/smoke flavours. Wonderful by the fireside in some remote pub with the wind howling outside and the snow piling up against he door.....”

Highland park 12 yr. ( Which I drink the most since I have limited availability of
single malts and this by far the best our local stores carry)

Laphroig 10 yr nice peat as well

    Glenlivet18 yr.
Chivas Regal 18 yo (both of theses are good nice crisp tastes.)
    Glenfiddich Special Reserve 12 yr.

I have one bottle of single malt that is old enough to buy itself a drink, Chivas Revolve 21yr.

When I used to drink ,Talisker was a hands down favorite. However when the funds were short White Horse ( Lagavulin is a main component of this blend) was a good choice for me.

    Thank you!

I just picked up a bottle of Ardbeg 10, and it's incredible. A sweet bouquet and a smokey, peaty flavour. I'd heard about this from another source as well, so was already going to try it, but then you recommended it as well. A fine whisky.

    Andrew.
