New brass cantle design

Here are a few shots of my latest sporran. I wanted to try this design cantle and I'm pleased with the way it came out. You can see the side by side with the last design I did a year or so back.

What gauge brass did you use?

It's 16 gauge brass and I purchased the button studs. The latch is my design and seems to work well.

Seems to me that it's likely the origin of the dumb little knobs on most modern cantles. Well done, lad!

It's a standard spring latch. The materials are basic but are effective.
