    Ron,
It looks like you were either at the top of the Tram or at Key's View in Joshua Tree Nat'l Park. Either place has a fantastic view. That's a great shot of you in your kilt. It looks like it was pretty cool that day, unlike now (it was a dry 113 today!). I like the military jacket look.....I'll have to scour the many thrift stores in the valley and look for one. I don't even have my Black Watch tartan yet, and I'm already thinking of a UK or a SportKilt, something for every day. Can't wait to stroll down Palm Canyon Drive on Thursday night at VillageFest and strut my stuff! Cheers! RB

Was at the top of whatever highway climbs up the hill at a scenic pull out.

As mentioned, that's a replica battlejacket from What Price Glory. They have a bunch of British and U.S. replicas including a Scottish one. Of course in military greens, browns and blues. I added the insignia to match my father's when he was with the RAF. But they come plain.

I believe that Ary is not in the Highlands (where the kilt was most famous).

Welcome from the desert of Washington State. There is a wonderful kilt shop in your town, the US office of Celtic Craft Centre.
