Whoa! When a smoker is offended by smoke stink - that's a bad stink!!
Last time I was in there, probably about 1969, if its the same store, I was still smoking heavy so don't recall that part.
Thanks for the heads up.

This sounds like cool idea. Of course, being a Poor, Starving Liberal Arts Student, I can't really afford to fly anywhere. Driving to 'Frisco or Vegas could be an option.
Perhaps an alternative to just a single event on a single day could be several events occurring simultaneously; say, in 'Frisco, Toronto, DC, and some convenient place in the UK, all linked by a live video feed of some kind? That way, the events could be small enough to not require a large amount of preparation, and everybody could join in without breaking the bank with travel expenses.

I kinda liked Ron's idea of going to a non kilt-friendly city. Would be kinda funny.
But I chose Chicago in that it's a large city, so there's plenty to do. Has O'Hare and Midway airports. And if you look at it on the map, (Didnt take into account European members, sorry) It's about right in the center of the country, so it's an equal distance for almost everyone.

Kilts in the windy city....that'd be fun....
But hey, I live on the "Windy Mesa" so I'm ready for dancing pleats.

I'm saying Toronto. Not only for purely selfish reasons (it's close), but because of a slight difference in Ontario and US law - the drinking age. Those of us under 21 won't be able to have Guinness with the rabble if the thing is held in the US of A.

Wherever is chosen people need plenty of notice.
Part of the problem with the last one was nothing became concrete in time for many to plan accordingly, especially when flights were involved.
Hamish and I had to cry off for that reason.

I'm for BC, but that's because it's close to me. The farther east, the less likely I'd be able to attend. But I think that's going to be the case with everyone.
It seems to me that Ontario and "Northern California" have the most frequent kilt nights. It would be nice to hold it in a city where you have good local guides.

Chicago, Illinois - my "brother" Eamonn wants me to move there. not so much.
Atlanta, Georgia - it's close to the Carolinas ...
Toronto, Ontario - definetly ranks high on my visitation scale
Houston, Texas - Austin .... hmmmm .....
Vancouver, BC - lots of "stuff" there
San Francisco, California - Hmm, NorCal Rabble (you've seen the pics, judge for yourself ... )
Denver, Colorado - another place with lots of "stuff" (Stuff is a good thing btw ..)
Washington, DC - hmmmm, again - stuff within range (Barb's not too far away either)
Boston, Massachusetts - high marks for rabble, "stuff" content, trouble
Fort Lauderdale, Florida - one word "humidity". no.
Agreement with the above, advance notice required.
CT - the more the better

I'd seriously consider attending an event in Toronto, Boston or Washington.

While Las Vegas would be cool (again ), I'd like to add Minneapolis/St. Paul to the list. Centrally located, close enough to our new home that Karen and I could drive there in less than 10 hours, and the Xmarks rabble could invade Stillwater Kilts and see Jerry's time machine in person!
