Time to start planning!
It looks like so far Walkerk, Madalyn, The F-H.C.A.G. , way2fractious, and myself* are all planning on being down in Palm Springs for a Kilt Day/Night with Hamish and Jim April 4th.
Do any of our friends in the So Cal Rabble have any thoughts where we should try to meet up?
Cheers
Jamie

Do any of you think you can make it to meet up with his Lairdship?
We should look to finding a suitable place to meet
(preferably with tasty beverages )
Cheers

In the "First Call" post, 1oldsarge noted "Lyon's English Grille is in South Palm Springs, and has a great tavern. It's also very close to Motel 6 and other lodging for those who travel far..."
I thought that suggestion was already in this thread, forgot that you had started a new one with the specific date.

Sydnie,
Sounds Good. They even have banquet rooms available depending on how many we may have coming.
Anyone who is interested in attending should take a look at Sydnie's link and voice there opinion before we start getting reservations

The step-daughter is visiting from Japan that week and may be leaving to go back that weekend (she teaches English to kids out there), so I can't commit; however, I will be watching this space. I'll know more after we find out her itinerary.

Absolutely not, your character is safe. We all started somewhere on this journey. If you really want a kilt for April 4th perhaps you could order from Stillwater Kilts they tend to get kilts dispatched quickly and it could be a great introduction to kilts.

And there are other vendors here who can supply a made-to-measure non-tartan kilt in that timeframe. . .

Count me in!!!
I am just up the hill from PS, 15 miles. I am excited to have a kilted party so close to home. I am in PS several times a week, if more help with the set up is needed I am glad to help.

In addition to His Lairdship Hamish visiting the PS area in April, just how many kilted bretheren are there in the area or are close enough that would be willing to travel a little to have a regularly scheduled Kilt night in the PS area?
I have been speaking with a friend who is a bartender at a local Pub and she seems to be rather enthused about having/sponsoring? a Kilt night.
As well, as previously mentioned in this thread, I think, there is a new pub, The Tilted Kilt, that is about to open in Palm Desert in March. I haven't been able to talk to anyone from that establishment about a Kilt Night, but it would seem to be right in-line with the theme of the place.
Any thoughts, or other suggestions?

First post in AGES . . . and since I just moved BACK to the Dirty Deuce (Twentynine Palms, for the uninitiated) from DE (hung out with Rocky a few times at Kilt Nights near Philly), I am very excited to see the amount of kilted gents near here!
I look forward to making it down there wherever we plan to go . . . And Gibbs, I am with you on trying to get a local kilt night going . . . 29 Palms is beyond boring. Let's open a pub here! (that goes for all the other locals, too!)
