I agree, it's a nice tartan but not on my list. With all those lovely Douglas tartans available that I do not have, region/district tartans are pretty low on the list of possible tartans.

I really like it, but I'll probably never have a kilt of it.

I like it, but as others have said, it's not the highest on my to get list.

Right now I'm at 6+ kilts (one in gestation), I would like some more clan tartans, mine are a bit pricey, so we may be saving for a while before we get more kilts.ith:

Wow! I got this tartan mainly because of some story I remember from my childhood which mentioned the Isle of Skye and as a kid I liked the spelling of Skye; it made the isle seem mystical with the silent e. Perhaps the story made the isle mystical as well. I don't remember it.

The tartan is pleasant to look at with its rich colors yet earthy. I have a Barbara Tewksbury Tank (of course superb in all ways possible) in the tartan. The kilt reminds me of The Green Man.

Once I decided on the tartan and got the kilt is seemed to be a very popular tartan.

I definitely voted yes on it.

    Cheers,

I adore the Isle of Skye tartan. It cracks me up what a babe magnet it is. Every time Jamie wears it, we get mobbed by women asking what tartan it is.

I have even heard it referred to as "X-Marks hunting" since so many on the forum seem to wear it!

I need to get myself a length for a sash or maybe a mini. Meanwhile, all the colors are very complimentary to red heads, so I just satisfy myself with buying coordinating dresses.

    Be well,

I don't wear the kilt to attract babes or bees . The IOS is just a little too purpley-pastely for my taste. That said I've only seen the tartan in photos. Maybe seeing one up close in the sunshine will change my opinion... ??

    Not averse, just ambivalent.

I almost bought Isle of Skye 4 years ago when I ordered my first traditional kilt. I wanted something unique that not many people were wearing, the colours were great, and having spent some time on Skye I am quite partial to the place and some of the people that I met while there (first and best haggis I have ever had!!).

I like the tartan, but man am I glad I didn't order it.
