on a slightly related note, I dislike when I don't go regimental, if I have to use a restroom, sometimes the undergarment won't quite go back where it was quite right.

Bottom, top, middle.
I find it easier to put on the hose, flashes, brogues, sgian dubh first. This way I don't wrinkle the shirt or the pleats on my kilt whilst seated on my chair adjusting the accouterments for the lower appendages. The shirt is next, followed by the kilt, sporran, and kilt belt, then the tie if one is worn, followed by the jacket, glenngarry, and out the door.
