Sorry to hear about your situation.. a lifestyle change is definately in order.. I had to go through one a couple years ago, when I had a gastric bypass.. best thing that ever happened to me..

Thanks to all for your kind words. But really, I just wanted to say that heart attacks do present with atypical symptoms, so don't refrain from seeing a doc just because "this isn't what a heart attack is like."
For myself, I was very fortunate, and my MI was about as minor as it's possible to be and still deserve the name. I'm taking a bunch of pills, and waiting to stop feeling like I was punched in the groin, where they put the catheter in.

My family history is littered with cardiac cases. None of it is ever any fun, but glad to hear yours was relatively "minor" (if there is such a thing when it comes to the heart).
I appreciate that warning and advice. Here's to a healthier heart!

My mother and her father had atypical symptoms - none. So, I do the prevention thing: regular check-ups, regular exercise, improved diet, and cholestrol meds. Glad that you are still around to write your story, Mr. D.

Glad to know you are ok. And I hope you do not have to look at surgical options so soon.

Oh my God-
I remember 3 years ago before I quit working for Apple, I was sitting at my desk and felt my heart.......It felt like it was...fluttering, or that it was being jiggled inside my chest. It hasn't happened since, but it was uncomfortable (not painful) and a little scary. lasted about 2 minutes....I wonder if I had a heart attack.

You probably, from the description, had an incident of arythmia, where your heart beat changes from its normal 1, 2, 3, 4 (yes, there are four events, which can sometimes be heard separately, but usually just 1, 2 are heard). Even though it hasn't troubled you since, I might see a cardiologist if I were in your shoes, and talk about it.
