What a fantastic event. The Quaich and log book were very well done. Hope to get to see it in person one day.

After an arduous walk (all 154 steps) the Rabble settle in for dinner and yet more conversation at The Fernwood Inn.

We now come to the part of the evening that we all came for, the passing of the Quaich.

To me, one of the truly great things about this forum is the getting together of the members to meet in person and share our love for the kilt and our experiences.

The beginning of this wonderful evening began with a meet and greet at the FK shop. Our members could be heard discussing almost anything and everything.

Holy Hector had a chance to meet xman for the first time.

    ("It was this big.")

ThistleDown regaled the Rabble with anecdotes of life in the Highlands.

(When I was a boy we had to wear the hand-me-down kilts of our brothers as we walked to school. 14 leagues each way, in blowing snow. Up hill both ways.")

And believe me when I say - you do not want to know the topic of this conversation.

But all good plans sometimes go astray. We had planned a Pub Crawl to round out the evening.
But in true Rabble fashion it was decided -"Why the heck should we go downtown to a noisy pub when we already have all we need right here?"

    Remember this photo?

Three unopend bottles of Scotch and one of Maple Whiskey, or Whisky if you prefer.

    Well we talked...........

    And talked......

    And talked......

Until the wee hours of the morning.

Lo and behold, this morning as Bobbie and I went to the shop to clean up, this is what greeted us.

    Poor lone soldiers stand duty.

    Ladies and Gentlemen,
I hope you have enjoyed this, my version, of the Launching of The Quest of The Quaich.

I'm sure others will post their own photos and rememberances. (Some may actually differ in interpretation from my own.)

CDNSushi, I hope your sharing of our Quaich is as enjoyable as mine.

Great photos Steve and fantastic to see so many send off the Quaich, to start its quest, in such salubrious style.

    cool to see

Wow, what a great idea to allow people to gather and have fun. It is pretty cool to see so many people wearing kilts. I have lived in my city (Salisbury, MD) for about 6 years and the only person I have seen wearing a kilt is me.

Great photos! I must say that standing around in someone's workshop drinking whisky and bantering while kilted is about as good as it gets.
