Nighthawk, when / where is the Edgewater gig? Sloans Lake? Will Edgewater Inn be providing pizza? Yeah, I know, wrong culture. Their "Howdy" pizza is memorable.

Yes, I remember that very well. I wish we'd realized somehow. . .Well, maybe next year!

You did? Who the heck were you? Only 3 X Markers I know of who came in were Dale, GMan and NotAmused. And starting a "Who has met Nighthawk" thread might be fun!! Not to sound full o' meself or somethin'... There are a few Wyoming X Markers whom I will have the pleasure of meeting over the coming weekend.

Here's their website:

It was a great time last year! This year can only be better. "Organized" and "Celtic festival" don't ever (EVER!!) go hand in hand... but that festival was organized!!

Back on track, I *did* get patted down at Denver International on the return trip yesterday. Did the backscatter thing twice, then was told "Sorry, but there are 'multiple anomalies'". Those were the three buckles on my kilt -- You could see their positions on the image and see them plain as day on the kilt; but no matter.
That must have happened in San Francisco as well; but presumably it was obvious to the TSA folks and they were able to exercise discretion, as they didn't even say anything to me after the scan.
To TSA's credit, I'll say that the guy they called over to search me was totally professional.
On boarding, the (female) attendant who scanned my boarding pass greatly admired the kilt -- and had been at the Games on Saturday. And as I was waiting at the carousel back at San Jose to get my checked bag (couldn't take my sgian dubh with me on the plane), a man who'd been on my flight walked over to me just to say he thought the kilt was "awesome".

Well, I only saw GMan, Nighthawk and a former member of XMarks at my tent this year. Would have enjoyed talking with anyone else that was there.

I can't find any pictures of you and I. I know there have been a few. Do you happen to have any handy?

I will make you regret those words.
Seriously, I hope you don't believe it was a deliberate snub. My foursome didn't arrive until 1 on Sunday, and after buying/eating some food, sword fighting, and watching the games, we had to be on our way to a gathering at our home. My wife got to check out her clan tent (Scott) but I didn't even have time to visit either the Gunn tent or the Welsh Society tent, both of which were high priority destinations.
You are in good company--I managed to snub everybody else who was there, too!
