    Re: My Mother's Funeral

Grief is the price we pay for love.

I think that it is a fantastic thing when people honour their heritage.

    Sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry to hear of your mums passing. I'll pray for your comfort.

    Re: My Mother's Funeral

I wanted to give you my condolences awhile ago but I wasnt quite sure what to say that would really express how sorry I am that you lost your mother. I have never gone through that and I didnt want my apology to sound cliche or generic. But truly, from the bottom of my heart, I am very sorry for yuor loss.

But I also truly believe that, while it hurts to say goodbye in this world, its not a goodbye forever. God willing, yuo will be with her again. It's not "goodbye" as much as it is just a "see you later."

It sounds to me that she was given a beautiful funeral service. My heart goes out to you and yuo always have us to lean on if you need it.

I've played the 'pipes for both my grandmothers' funerals. While not "enjoyable", it was a privilege. It sounds like the OP's mother was quite a lady whose life touched many, many people and whose passing was mourned and whose life was celebrated by all who knew her.

    Re: My Mother's Funeral

I am so very sorry for your loss. What an incredibly thoughtful and meaningful gesture to pay tribute to the love that your parents shared by laying her to rest in a sash of your father's tartan.

    God speed.

    Re: My Mother's Funeral

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mother. It was a wonderful thing for you to do to honor her heritage. I copied your post and showed it to my wife. I can only hope our children are as thoughtful in honoring our heritage when our time here on earth is over.

    Re: My Mother's Funeral

I know what it's like, too. I'm sorry. It sounds like she lived a long and good life, and was surrounded by a loving family and you can't ask for more than that.

May her memory be eternal! As long as she lives in your heart, she lives. God bless you.
