If I were playing a "proper" set of drums you're quite right Graham - I would be well covered by the bass drum. However, due to the fact that, firstly, I don't own a proper set of drums and secondly, its only a very small church building, I play a digital drum set which has 7 rubber pads and two pedals and is only the size of a regular tray. I use my sturdy music stand as a place to put the drum kit on. Therefore, the drum kit gives me no more covering than the guitar!!

The layout of the church is a strange one as well. Its actually an L-shape with the altar at the intersection of the two sides of the "L". This means that any unwarranted exposure would be visible not just from the altar area but also by the congregation in the front seats on the other side of the "L"! Frankly, its an awful design for a church as one half of the congregation is hidden from most of the other half!

I currently don't own a sporran (I use a bum bag which actually doesn't hang down as far as a sporran would). Maybe that's the answer and I need to invest in a sporran. Something simple and relatively cheap would do me just right.

Cheers
David.
