Sister Heidi, I know that this must have been stunning and profoundly sad. Take comfort in the lives she must have touched (including yours) and rejoice that her journey of the soul continues.

    Dear Sister Heidi,

I'm remembering all you've told us about Sister Joan and her life. What an amazing privilege it is to hear her story. You will be in my thoughts and prayers through the weeks ahead.

Why art thou so full of heaviness, O my soul? and why art thou so disquieted within me?
O put thy trust in God; for I will yet thank him, which is the help of my countenance, and my God.

I will yet thank him, but perhaps not just now. It's OK to miss her; how could you not miss her? I will give thanks for the love of Sister Joan, and the greater love that gave her to us for a little while.

Hugs, and maybe a little Mendelssohn...

My thoughts immediately turned to my friends, Sr. Audrey and St. Ann, and how close they are. I can't imagine one without the other, and I can't imagine how you feel.

May kindly Michael, chief of the holy angels, take charge of her beloved soul and tenderly bring it home to the Three of limitless love: Creator, Savior, Eternal Life-giver.

    Sister Heidi,
I saw the obits. in the Flint Journal a couple days ago and saw her picture. Sadley I didn't think a lot about it until you put a personality with it. I am humbled. Thank you and I will certainly pray for you and your congregation.

Dear Sister, you are as much loved here on this forum as you are by your other Sisters and those who know you. And we grieve as you grieve for your loss. Thank you for sharing so much of the love and life of Sister Joan.

I firmly believe that love never separates us from our friends and family. It is a reflection of God's love, which is everywhere and always. I pray that love comforts you and heals you.

To Sister Joan, whose joy, whose life, and whose love touched so many, and will continue to do so.
