    I know what you mean, the first time I went through that thread I knwe the 10 looks looked right but couldnt figure out why. That said I use it more of a guide than rules that must be followed epsecialy since i very rarley wear a shirt when kilted.

    Well, I did mention my FB friend who lives in a castle in Scotland and wears a waistcoat of a different clan tartan with his kilt. He’s quite proud of the combination.
    The castle is in a district that is counted as being Lowland, but it is north of the Forth.
    That said, I don’t recall whether he was wearing a tie in the picture.

    I have inherited from my father a number of ties with military associations, but since he never served in a kilted regiment, they all feature stripes.
