    So the lesson is that, if you want something very, very special, you will have to wait for it (and shell out the $$$$ for it)...and that's what makes it special.

    Perhaps you should take up knitting to take your mind off the wait...you could knit some kilt hose to go along with the new kilt.

    Very true! However a smaller order should not be liable.

    But a smaller order won't be enough to make a kilt with.

    I'm not saying the price should be adjusted to avoid fees, or any other games played to that end. All I'm saying is that when we do place our orders, it needs to be clear whether there will be fees or not. There should be no surprises.

    I'm really looking forward to this. I love the tartan, and it would be a very unique kilt to have (4-yd box pleat in this tartan).

    If it's shipped by royal mail small packet, it usually 'scoots' through without even hitting customs. I'm not making any guarantees, it's just my experience ordering small, expensive toys from the UK.

    My experience has been;

    I 've had a kilt sent from Scotlan and shipped by royal air mail with no customs charges

    I had a jacket sent by FEDX and was hit with the charges

    I think that UPS and FEDX MUST get a cut of the custom fees

    Anytime I've used Royal Air Mail I got the package in 3-5 days

    The re-weave per the original is in hand. Should be ready in about 3-4 weeks.

    Reckon I might actually have the cloth next week some time. That being the case I'll be looking to take orders and get it out asap.
