It is in the blood as well as the uniform. My family have always been Seafaring people, and i did my time on the waves, as crew of a Charter fishing boat, and in Uncle Sam's Yacht Club lol.
But I Digress.
I love wearing my kilts, as part of my pride, and out of shear comfort. I prefer them to shorts any day. Today was tromping around school in a rugby shirt, flat cap, my black stewart and 9-button boots, and one of my teachers told me I looked like the Brute Squad.
I bowed and said thank you.

I wonder if people ever consider, seriously consider, "don't knock it till you try it." They would probably be a little less uptight and a lot more comfy!

Me too...guy asked me the other day why I wear a navy digital kilt...I replied that at some point it would really aggravate a SWO.....
He then asked if I were a chief...I just tirned and showed him my kilt pin and he cracked up laughing...

Well-played, sir.
My next kilt will more than likely be an Edzell 5 yarder from USAK. I have wanted an Edzell Kilt since I enlisted for nicer events, and esspecially for the Memorial Day Parade at the local Renn Faire i work at.
I am a bladesmith there, and dont wear a kilt in the forge, butI do the memorial day parade every year and would really like to wear an Edzell kilt, with my old Dungaree shirt, My flight deck boots and white gaiters.
Not traditional by any means, but I think it will look better than my jumper.

Sailor Mouth... Hmm, I resemble that.

Just got back from a week-long trip to Ireland with Barleyjuice.
I had my USAK Warrior casual on in a pub in Killarney and received several (amazingly intelligent) questions about it and I think converted several other patrons to look into purchasing their own. Also got several very nice compliments for ladies in the crowd.
The best compliment by far was the extremely attractive 20-something young lady in the convenience store down the street from the hotel who almost climbed over the counter to get a good luck at the kilt. Nothing can lift the spirits of a 47 year old man better than that!
God, I love my kilts!

My squadrons called it the American Gun & Canoe Club.
