Actually, Al. I have had mine only about three weeks and have not yet had a chance to wear it out and about.
One thing is certain: a kilt it is not, but it is very comfortable (I've worn it around the house) and I suspect it will be great for walking over the hills and dales come the warmer weather. It is made from an extremely lightweight fabric which, I am told is used a lot in quality hiking gear. It is also virtually rain-proof and wind resistant, and is very well made.
It's probably not what I will choose to wear to the Supermarket or on days out in London (!), but I am looking forward to giving it considerable rural wear.

Ham,
Are your Breacans a true 4 yards, or are they a bit longer than that, as some other '4 yard' kilts are?
Also, is it easy to keep the pleats from creasing?
Yes, you have probably guessed that I still haven't decided yet if I should get myself a Breacan. I know it was a year ago now when we were discussing it in Wales, but I have never been one to be hasty in my decisions. I do like the Hunting Stewart Tartan.

Thanks for your input, Hamish. I will be interested in hearing more once you've had the opportunity to wear it more often.

Never mind, if you've got it, flaunt it. That's what I say!
Hey, we've all got to have a role model!
And you do flaunt it rather well!! 8)
But just out of interest. Do you really, regularly wear every kilt you've purchased? Or are some of them out of favour?

Al
Absolutely none of my kilts are "out of favour" Al. Of course, I have my favourites which tend to get worn more frequently than some of the others, but I work my way through them all allowing for seasonal effects, geographical locations, what I happen to be doing and, indeed, my own moods!
A couple of my earlier purchases are perhaps now rather too tight on me for comfort(!!) and they are seldom worn, but I'll never part with them as they form an integral part of The Collection.

Absolutely Casey! But what a glorious addiction to have, no negative side effects but controversy and poverty! Have fun with your new passion, we all do.

The second kilt has arrived (Irish Renegade from Sport Kilts). Of course I have it on.
One still on order. The tension mounts. I await my Maple Leaf tartan. Patriotic!
