That's exactly what I'm looking for I was planning to come in 2017 for the Elliott clan gathering , anyway ( and still hope to do so) But badly in need of some R & R soon, ..Carpe Diem & all that..So decided to plan a trip over next year. I am not really interested in trying to do a mad tear of the entire country in one trip, so I decided sticking to the Borders would be a good way to take in some history and get some much needed peace & quiet. Sounds like I am on the right track. Thanks for the confirmation

from the highlands of southern Oregon. Nova Scotia was where my grandfather McQueen's family (reportedly) landed, before moving further west, to Manitoba, where he was born.

Hello Julia. Welcome to X Marks. That was a wonderful introduction. Good luck on you kilt making adventures, there are many here who can help you with that.
Glad you chose to share your love of the kilt with the rabble and I look forward to your participation.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. Thanks for the welcome I seem to be hearing a lot of people mention lately that their ancestors came to North America through Nova Scotia, which is certainly not a surprise. Its a privilege to live in a province with such a rich culture.

It would certainly be fun to meet up , either in Peebles or Hawick, whichever ends up working out.

Hello, Julia, and welcome from an exiled Scot living in the West Midlands of England. We have three cats, but none of them are kilted - they object strongly even to having collars adjusted, so getting them into kilts is out of the question!

Bobby actually seemed to like the T-shirt, and even purred as i stuffed his rotund self into it. It was the kilt that seemed to put him over the edge.
