You could alway put a piece of tape on your leg:

If you have some of the rare earth magnets you could use them instead of pinning your fly plaid. Fold one into the fly plaid at the shoulder and put a small strip of metal inside the jacket. Do the same down where the broach is pinned through the fly plaid. No holes in the jacket, when you dance the broach won't move around and hit your dancing partner.

I tried, but was told if I did we'd (me and my droogs) be kicked out and I'd possibly not graduate. A friend of mine was suspended for a week for wearing a kilt (MacTablecloth clan, we didn't know any better and didn't have much to work with in rural New Mexico).
