It's a pleasant side trip from I-40 on the way to Asheville, perhaps an hour's drive from the interstate. Of course there are also many wonderful, leisurely drives to be had.
Anyway, if you are headed that way, allocate a day for the Museum.

McMurdo,
You are SOOOOO making me 'homesick'. Franklin is my family's home away from home ever since my grandfather built a cabin along the banks of Peeks Creek. Between this post and your other post here--I'm REALLY eager to get back this year.
Thanks and GREAT pictures!

I have been insanely busy with work and I am just catching up with a ton of posts! It seems from all of your pictures, that both you and Catherine has a ton of fun on your visit to Franklin and the surrounding area. Thanks for a peek at the museum!

Thanks for the photo tour of the museum. It has always sounded like an interesting place to visit, and now looks even more so than I had originally thought.
So, judging by the photo either Matt is exceptionally tall, or you are of small stature.

Matt (on average) stands about 6'4"/193 cm. I'm trying (and failing) not to say something about standard deviations.

Those were great pics, McM. Now, I have a better idea of what the museum looks like inside. I don't know when I will get the chance to get over there, though.
