The smell of cedar can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. Perhaps moderating the aroma with some notes of other bug repelling stuff like the lavender or, possibly, some citrus note would help make it more liveable. Maybe some sachets with lemon or lime peel or possibly some rosemary along with the cedar from the wood?
What about those spacebag things? That will keep them separate from the cedar smell.
As long as you don't vacuum out the air----otherwise wrinkles which can become fixed in the fabric and hard to release even with a steaming. Problem is that you do not know when a moth might have gotten into your clothes while you were wearing them and then entered your closet when you put them away, even when using sealed garment bags. So the cedar is to drive them off, and keep any new ones from coming in on their own. Good news about cedar is that if you get them items you plan on wearing out and give them a good airing on a porch or infront of an open window they will generally nost keep the smell that long---certainly not as long as with mothballs.
And cedar is much healthier than the naphthalene and/or paradichlorobenzene found in mothballs when inhaled, absorbed, or taken internally. Or so I hope.

Now that’s a laudable effort, Jeff. I hope I am that careful about my kollection when I have more than just the one.
Incidentally, the word is holeyness. Don’t want to upset the holy (or the holier-than-thou)!
Regards,
Mike
