Kilt Addict Emergency....Yikes!!
So, its a quiet Sunday afternoon and going over my banking to pay the bills and I notice my bank has upped my credit card limit another $1,500.00 USD!!
Now I know that's a common thing before the end of the year holidays...encouraging me to shop for family and friends with their particular piece of plastic.
But dang it, my mind is now awash with KILTS, KILTS, KILTS....
Hey, I'm a single guy. My ladyfriend makes good money and shares the expenses of spending time together. I have great credit. I pay my bills on time. I make enough to pay my bills....
But I already own 29 kilts (27 in house, one on the way, one lingering - the X Marks set back in Kathy Lare's waiting line).
I don't NEED another kilt. I can think of a few dozen kilts I WANT!!
Dang, wish I hadn't seen that....breathe into it Ron...no point in ordering more kilts...all the kiltmakers have extended waiting lists all the way through St. Patty's day this time of year...no point in it...
Aye Yi Yi...this KILT CRAVING is sucking me in....AHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhh
A Kilt addict and his money are soon parted....
Where'd I put that TFCK catalog??? And Matt....he makes those box pleats...don't have a Matt kilt yet...or a Hillwalker with POCKETS!
This positively has to be have a psychiatric diagnosis of some sort! Kilt Dependent....
Babbling incoherently...drooling on the keyboard....making lists...arranging priorities....doomed to an eternity of kiltdome...

"My name is NancyMan and I too am a kilt addict"
Hey Ron,
I may be just a young pup onboard this forum of salty old sea dogs, but well I know whereof thee speak. Barely three months kilted and all ready I have 10 kilts either in my possession, en route or on order. Enough kilts to gird my loins in every season or mood. Does that stop me from dreaming? Nay sir. I still have visions of a two-tone in beefy granite with a blue tartan peeking out from the pleats, or of a wool 4 yarder in ancient Clarke tartan (my mother's clan). I STILL want a kilt in cotton duck to match the full set of Carradice bicycle panniers I have which are made out of the same material. I could see myself in the MacBitseach tartan. When will Stillwater come out with a wool heavyweight NOT in the Blackwatch tartan? (Let me know and you'll see why they call me the fastest draw in the west.) Good god! I don't have a kilt in red? How will I ever get through the holiday season in good spirits?
Take it one day at a time buddy,
Vincent

Oh this kid is good: we'll have to watch him.
As for Bubba's suggestion to look at accessorizing I can only say...Hear, Hear! I was looking at several formal sporrans and PC jackets recently, when I realized I don't really have anywhere to wear them. Then I thought: "hey, Tracy likes the symphony...why not a 4-pak of tickets to the Denver Symphony Orchestra?" I see a purchase in the next month or two.
Bryan...given sufficient funds, I can rationalize anything...

I feel your pain, Ron! Just remember that you work with addicts, perhaps you should start working with yourself? LOL
If it makes you feel better, I have a c/c sitting in a well-hidden place that is unused. It's paid off and has a $22K limit. When I got the replacement for it a few months ago I never bothered to have it activated. Too much temptation to wear the numbers off the darn thing ordering more kilts! I only have 5...so far. The cravings are unbelievable! Must be strong...must be strong...argh!
