Ah, Deil, yer a man after my own heart.
But, on the otherhand, I think Cajun is right. However, that doesn't keep you, me, and anyone else who cares to join us, from gathering anytime after the opening time of 4:00.
We'll have the official cocktail hour begin 5:30 - 6:00 with dinner about 6:30 - 6:45 (or there about). I can't be more precise since, as mentioned earlier, catching, skinning, and cooking haggis is not a precise operation. I only put out the haggis traps last night, so it may take a while to get a nice fat one worthy of the Bard's day.
And don't forget, anyone who doesn't imbibe is not expected to, but you can still join us for the gab and cattle raids. I have found in the past that a nice glass of tonic water or soda water with lime makes for a very nice "cocktail."
I have several friends and relatives who are friends of Bill W., but that doesn't stop us from having fun together.

Rogues, rapscillions and gentlemen all. It is with deep regret that I have to write this... i will be unable to make the dinner on the 20th. I had been looking forward to this for some time, but life has just thrown a curve ball.. My aunt who has been suffering from abdominal cancer for some time has just been admitted to the hostpital for a death watch. At this point she is not expected to last the week. I have been asked to come up and preside over the grave side service so I will likely be out of town for our dinner.
Raise the glass boys to the memory of Dallas June...

Sorry to hear that Mike. Grace and Peace.
We'll definitely be having more gatherings as this Georgia crowd gets organized so we'll eventually get to meet.

I'll be talking to Holly in a day or two and let everyone know the price. We'll need to make reservations in advance so she can make her plans/purchases.
Sorry to be so late in all this.
And, Mike, sorry to hear about your aunt. I was really planning on you to help out, but there'll be other nights. Just keep us posted, and know you are in our prayers.

Fact is, I've been more than a bit slack this last week. I'll know by tomorrow night what the final deal is. I'm sure it'll be reasonable, but I'll get Holly to commmit and post it by tomorrow night. You can call her directly to make reservations.
I'll post all the info tomorrow evening, I promise.
I have been working on the program, though, and that's about set. All I need are a couple of you guys to take part. We need:
* a female responder to the Toast to the Lassies,
* someone to do the Selkirk Grace before the meal,
* a piper if any of you play (not a really gig, just pipe in the haggis)
* someone to recite or read, "To a Haggis" as we salute the beast.
I am planning the Immortal Memory myself, but if someone else is really hot to do it, I'll be glad to pass it off. We can swap with the "Haggis" poem.
Come one guys, it's time to pony up. I'm counting on a very good time, and you will enjoy it all the more if you take part.
BTW, I can forward the program draft if you have Publisher to open it. Just PM me, and it'll be right along.

OK Jim,
I've PM'd you but I wanted to post so others can know the details also.
I and my Wife will be there.
I'll do the Selkirk Grace if that is still open.
If a Piper cannot be found, I have a ton of Scottish .mp3's I can bring to play on the pubs sound system or if someone else has a system they can bring. I've got several appropriate Rabbie Burns tunes by Eddie Reader and some instrumentals of the same songs as well as Bro's and Butter which I believe is usually used to pipe in the Haggis. Just a fall back suggestion if a Piper does not turn up.
I'll be at a gymnastics meet in Dahlonega in the AM so I'm not sure how early I will be there, but I will be there before the event gets into full swing.
Join in on this inaugural event lads, as this is the first of many kilt nights in Georgia.

OK guys, I am going to TRY and make it. My wife and I will be travelling back to Georgia starting on Wednesday and hope to be home by Thursday evening. Of course, a lot of this depends on weather and the family commitments that tend to crop up.... I should know for sure by Thursday morning!
I certainly hope we can be there and meet the rest of you guys and gals!
