Shot of Calton Hill from Broughton St - you can see "Edinburgh's Disgrace" at the left.
Nope, don't think the new parliament building is in that pic

I agree! I don't mean to get Trefor going , but to Dee, John Knox was a widower of 50 when he married his second wife, who was 16 at the time.

I've really enjoyed this series of pictures, Trefor. It looks like you had good weather. Thanks for taking the time to post these.

Not so many tourists get around to Broughton Street and York Place in the new town.
I guess many never get beyond George St - one of the main reasons this time was the B&B I was recommended to try just off York Place. There are so many bits of the new town I have yet to see myself - believe it or not I have never seen the Water of Leith yet!

The weather was on the whole good but we did get some rain though less of it than the previous October.

Now now Alex - much as you may have a view on the Parliament that's only a 21st Century one.

Edinburgh October Pictures #12
Part Twelve.
High St buildings in sunlight and shadow.

Have not been in here for over 30 years - maybe next time!

Cockburn St buildings in sunlight and shadow.

St Giles Crown.

A little bit of history just inside the City Chambers quadrangle.

More sunlight and shadow looking up towards the Highland Kirk (now The Hub.)

More to come!
