I like reading all these story's. I suppose I have the advantage in being Scottish btu then I still have to explain why I'm wearing a kilt which most people can't seem to grasp anyway.
Jordan
The hielan' man he wears the kilt, even when it's snowin';
He kens na where the wind comes frae,
But he kens fine where its goin'.

There is no getting over the vast gulf of kilt ignorance displayed by the vast majority of the population in Britain, the US or South Africa (to name just three countries where kilts are worn).
It seems we will have to educate them.

What I get fairly often, if I'm popping in a Starbucks or whatever, either on my way to a gig or coming home from a gig, is
"so where are your bagpipes?"
to which I answer
"there in my car!"
That seems to satisfy everybody.

If you're not a piper, you shouldn't be wearing a kilt?
If you're not a cowboy, you shouldn't be wearing jeans.
And, most importantly, If you don't know what you're talking about, you should shut yer mouth.

So, are denim kilts (like the first Utilikilt) reserved for cowboy pipers?

What makes non kilt wearers an expert? Because they don't wear a kilt and they aren't.
