Well, if this thing travels westward, it must sooner or later run out of North America (and Hawaii). Then there is New Zealand (which if I recall aright is a bit east of Japan), and after that Australia . . . and then there’s the Indian Ocean . . .
This is beginning to get very interesting indeed.

No, I'm pretty sure that the last words were something like "damn, I'm hungry".

Climbing season is only 2 months of the year due to severe weather.
But failing that, any time of year is fine too.
When do the cherry trees bloom in Japan? That would make a pretty picture.

Depends on the region. They start down South earlier, making their way North. But if I were to do a traditional "hanami" event (a Japanese picnic among the cherry trees) around these parts it would be around the first weekend in April.
Although, that may easily vary from year to year by as much as almost a whole month. I've seen them bloom almost into May.
Near us, Minobu Temple is the site of a 400-year old weeping cherry tree that's truly a sight to behold when it's in full bloom.

It's arguably best to go see it near the end of cherry blossom season. Whenever the breeze picks up, it rains down cherry blossoms everywhere, almost like snow. Very pretty and romantic. :-)

I'm cooking up an idea to coincide with the 2012 Ventura Games (gotta plan these things well in advance!). Is the Quaich booked for the first weekend in October 2012? If not, please pencil us in and stay tuned. . .
