    Some photos of the military knit necktie.

    Here is Lieutenant Scott, WWI. The distinctive texture of the knit necktie can clearly be seen. This photo also shows the bar/pin worn on the shirt collar as late as the 1970s by Highland officers

    Yes, I still have that same knit tie, stored with my 1950's pattern Royal Canadian Army Cadets battledress uniform.
