Ted, these shirts have the jabot permanently attached to the front of the shirt, where it buttons, sort of like the uber frills on the shirts worn by members of a Latin American Conga Band. In my opinion they never look quite nice because being part of the shirt they don't move or "flow" like the real thing. Also, the lace attached to the cuffs is rather skimpy, and looks, well, mean.
Like most things "fake" they are best avoided by gentlemen like you and me.
