Fantastic hose and a new to me sporran

Thanks to Troglodyte and his good lady I am the proud owner of some fine new hose and a lovely sporran from c.1920-30.

You are looking pretty sharp there, old boy.

That's a pretty sharp dash you're cutting there..!

I used to have a sporran just like that, but, being the kind soul I am, I let it go to a more deserving cause.

And it looks just the thing with your splendid vintage kilt - the perfect model for us all to follow.

Seeing them worn, the effect is even more impressive than I had expected - and brings to mind this picture of the Prince of Wales and the hose he is wearing.

HRH's hose-tops are contrasting, but they seem to have a similar small diagonal check.

I won't mention that HRH is wearing ghillie-brogues...

I gave the sporran a proper run out at the Abernethy Games last weekend. Different hose on that occasion.

A classic demonstration of, how to and not to, wear kilt attire effectively.

Could be? Although on magnification, it looks more like, the back panel of the jacket and perhaps the collar, are made of a different tweed. A new fashion?
