Tartan Day 2018 Friday April 9

Tartan Day is approaching. Is there any interest in getting the group together somewhere for dinner and/or a pint or two?

It's on a Friday this year, so a Saturday or Sunday gathering would be ideal. I don't see a Tartan Day Pub Crawl on the Chicago Scots Events Calendar, and because I've never been there I wouldn't mind a visit to either The Duke Of Perth in Chicago or, in my neck of the woods, The White Hart Pub or The Bar (but not The English Room, of course) at The Deer Path Inn in Lake Forest (they actually have a large wall-length display case there with kilts and sporrans), but otherwise I'm open to anything...
    Best Regards,

I would love to this time ... but I have relocated to Northwest Montana where the nearest watering hole is an hour away ... SO FAR I have NOT seen any kilts

A bit too far to travel for me, though I appreciate you thinking of me! I reckon I'll be back up to Chicago around Burns Supper in 2020.

Friday April 6th. I'm up for it. The Duke of Perth has all you can eat fish and chips on Fridays.

    Why is it 6th April?

In Australia Tartan Day is 1 July, marking the anniversary of the Repeal Proclamation of 1782 that annulled the Act of Proscription.
