Another Happy Aussie
Just came back from interstate to be handed kilt number one by my smiling wife. A traditional USA in Stewart Hunting.
The fit is excellent, the sevice was excellent, the workmanship is great. Thank you Rocky for all your help, it made my first purchase so much easier and your advise on socks was spot on to.
The wife loved the fashion parade but then it was time for some Aussie style, black T shirt and bare feet to check the letter box. The neighbours were driving passed and I never relised a female neck had that much twist till now! I had to have my first big laugh kilted.
Thanks again Rocky - shall be in touch with the next order soon.

Yet again the power of the kilt is unleashed upon an unsuspecting female population

Great news Rob,I know just how you feel!
Can you post any photos? Let us know the reactions and responses that you get from Hobartians.
Do you know Dr.David Mitchell? He lives in Sandy bay, a retired barrister and very much in favour of kilts.
Also, you might see my son daniel running around, he has a USA Kilt and loves wearing it.
So you are not alone!
A good place to try it out might be Salamanca market.
Happy kilting!

sounds like the kilts are taking Tasmania by storm! I'm glad to hear such a positive response to your first (and nowhere NEAR your last) kilted outing.
If I've learned one thing while wearing kilts, it's this: Females are NOT as "innocent of thought" as they claim to be. They say MEN are pigs? They're just as bad if not worse.

Rob,
Glad to hear about the arrival of your new kilt! I guess we may be able to change the name of Tasmania to Kiltmania real soon
Ah the joys of hearing the women's responses

Absolutely.
I don't think it would be well accepted if a man walked up to a woman (a stranger) that reached up her skirt to see what she is wearing underneath.
Yet it happens to us guys all the time at the hands of women.
Women can get away with a lot more than we can.
*sigh* They're always after me lucky charms.

Thanks Graham
Will post some photos soon.
Sorry I do not know the good doctor
Look forward to meeting your son out and about.
Too late for Salamanca I am afraid. It was straight out on Friday night - first to a business meeting after work then to a busy local resturant for dinner with friends.
It was very interesting to observe reactions at the resturant - a few raised eyebrows from older ladies and even some smiles from the men - no comments verbally excepy from the friends I was out with and all in good humour, great fun.
Now I know I will have to order another soon so I don't have to worry about about getting it dirty and having nothing to wear next day. Except for mowing and gardening was kilted nearly all weekend - even broke the news to my father who just gave me one of those looks that can pass only between father and son!
Cheers

You are right about women getting away with more.
So far, no one has tried to lift my kilt when I have been out. Maybe, I should be insulted that no one has tried. Maybe its just my age. I am old enough to be the father of the women trying to lift your kilt.
So, I will be surprised when someone tries to lift my kilt. Even more surprised, if I turn around and its a guy instead.
Until then, I guess I should think about trying out for the lead in Shrek3 !
