    Argyle Jacket Buttons

    Mornin' All!

Help! My dear wife is making me an Argyle Jacket for Christmas( ) and we need buttons to go on it. The problem is we're not sure what would be proper or where to obtain them. Do we use metal embossed or will any suit type button do? Our area is not too well supplied for this type of thing so I'm sure we'll send for them if they should be metal.

Any and all suggestion are welcome.

    Thanks!

    Bill

If it is a semi-formal black jacket, then I believe metal buttons are appropriate, if a tweed day-jacket, then bone or imitation bone are the norm.

    I think this is correct.

    Goodmorn!

My thanks to you for the help! After looking and lurking about I contacted Highland Express about the buttons. I must say their Customer service shines! Mary, the sales clerk went out of her way to help answer my questions about the number and size needed to complete the project and in the end I came away with all that I needed at a good price!

I highly recommend them to anyone who making their own Jackets or Kilts.
